Now your master, Lord Gohda, has called upon you - a cunning stealth assassin - to stop Tenrai and his disciples before all is lost.Įarn 9 unlockable new abilities in 26 intense single-player missions. * Unlock nine abilities as you work your way through 26 single-player missionsĪfter amassing an army of ninjas and lord of darkness, the mysterious Tenrai has begun a quest to conquer 16th-century Japan. * Play alone or challenge friends to cooperative or competitive multiplayer action * Select and play Rikimaru or Ayame, and then use them to sneak up behind your enemy and execute a silent kill Special bonus moves, such as a double-team stealth kill, are only available in the cooperative missions. These missions are completely different from the story or versus mode, and require dedicated teamwork. Perhaps most interesting, however, are the six split-screen cooperative missions. Tenchu 3 includes a two-player versus mode set in an enclosed arena with additional hostile enemies. Tenchu 3's story hints at unresolved questions from Tenchu: Stealth Assassins and Tenchu 2: Birth of the Stealth Assassins, and some familiar villains, like Tatsumaru, return. Some enemies become enraged and attack blindly, but more calculating adversaries refuse to leave an advantageous position. Spearmen, for instance, prefer fighting from a distance to maximize their reach advantage. Enemy starting positions change each time players restart a level, and enemies behave differently depending on their weapon and emotional state. A wealth of trickery and stealthy weapons await: throwing stars, grenades, land mines, poisoned rice balls, magical swords, flaming arrows, invisibility cloaks, explosive throwing stars, skyrockets, and grappling hooks are all available. Both have a unique style and progress through the nine single-player missions differently, with varying objectives. Guess It'll be my weekend plans.Wily ninjas Rikimaru and Ayame return in Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven, the third entry into the Tenchu series. I found some stuff online about LBA editing earlier today. Maybe there's a way to import some stuff from the PS2 release to the Fatal Shadows Portable ISO and get it working? Tenchu San appears to have lots of leftovers from the original game, including a mysterious Xbox related file, which was very surprising. It'd be just a matter to, again, changing the assets in-game somehow, but it's hard to find anything about it online.Īlso, I just took a peek at Tenchu Kurenai (Fatal Shadows), but it looks like it only has the JP text available, which is a shame. There's a way to translate stuff onscreen using the PPSSPP emulator as well, so the images are already translated too. I mean, there appear to be files from the English release already inside the game's ISO, meaning it's probably just a matter of making the game load those files instead of the originals. Also, being able to play it on the go is a big plus. Yeah, I have this in English for the PS2 and Return From Darkness on Xbox, but I'm intrigued to see if it's possible to just restore the official translation for these games. Is this doable? I'm guessing somebody else would have done this eons ago if the files are already in there, so am I missing something? Thanks in advance. Reading further, it seems that the PSP has a sort of file allocation table of sorts called LBA which keeps track of where each file is and what it is, but I couldn't find an easy way to edit this. While I've managed to extract the ISO, mess with it using UMGen and export to the PSP, it stopped working once I tried to swap the English and Japanese title screens around, as the game hangs after the intro movie. This is where things started going over my head, though. Some screens are still there too, like the options screen having a OPTIONSE and OPTIONSJ variants in there, which I presume could be versions in English and Japanese of the same asset. Including what appears to be scripts for the entire game in English, German, Italian, French and Spanish. So I started messing around inside Ninja Katsugeki - Tenchu San Portable's ISO file and found out that there are lots of stuff from the English release of the game still in there. After looking around for a while, it appears that there are no translations for this game, even though English versions exist for the PS2. So it has recently come to my attention that Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven and Tenchu: Fatal Shadows exist for the PSP, but only in Japanese. I'm quite new here, and to this whole romhacking thing, so I'm still finding my feet. First of all, forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this.
